2nd May 2012

It is with great sadness I share the news that the Kings Hill Cricket Club Chairman, Brian Bell, passed away at the weekend.

Brian was one of the original founders of the Club back in 2006.  He was a very dedicated Chairman, moving the club forward and bringing cricket to Kings Hill.  Brian was a major part of development for the Club’s pavilion and ground.  The club members and friends are very saddened at the loss of Brian and will miss his wit and banter enormously.

Brian’s funeral will be on Thursday 10th of May at 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Church, West Malling.  The family have created a charity page in Brian’s memory for donations to Leukaemia & Lymphoma research  - instead of flowers  - as this was Brian’s wish.

The Kings Hill Cricket Club was established in 2006 and played its first match against Town Malling Cricket Club on 9th September that year. Now after four years of being a wandering team we have taken a giant step in our development. On 17th July 2010 we were proud that Sir Derek Underwood  opened our home ground The Kings Hill Oval and Pavilion.

We would like to thank Liberty Property Trust UK and - for their sponsorship and support, and together with Kings Hill development partner Kent County Council - for donating the use of the Kings Hill cricket pitch and building the pavilion for the Mosquitoes to call home.
